Ms. Rees joined First Foundation in 2009 as a member of the philanthropy team and has showcased her expertise and commitment through various roles served within the department. In her current role as Assistant Vice President, Philanthropy Services Advisor, she is responsible for managing operations for family and private foundation clients and collaborating with their trusted advisors. She assists foundations in executing their philanthropic mission through strategic planning, effective grant making, impact reporting and scholarships. Ms. Rees provides guidance to multi-generational families navigating their philanthropic journey. With a deep understanding of tailored scholarship programs, she played a pivotal role in Scholars First, the firm’s former 501(c)3 public charity. Hilary also serves on the company’s Foundation Committee which focuses on fostering company culture and employee engagement.
Known for her passion in working with families and their intricate philanthropic journeys, Hilary prides herself on developing lasting relationships with her clients, drawing from extensive experience in serving high net worth individuals and families with a strong emphasis on discretion and confidentiality.
Prior to her position at First Foundation, Hilary worked at Neuberger Berman as a client administrator in wealth management and held a sales position at Washington Mutual.
Hilary’s dedication to making a difference extends beyond her professional roles as she has volunteered with organizations such as Junior Achievement, the YMCA, and her church, with a particular focus on supporting youth. Additionally, she has served on the PALS auxiliary board at Orangewood Foundation. She is currently focused on raising her young son while exploring more volunteer opportunities.
Ms. Rees holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with an emphasis in International Business and Portuguese from the University of Arizona.
